When I was wearing scrubs and practicing in day-to-day operations, seeing patients, trying to handle staff, and everything that comes with running a medical business, I always had a coach or consultant.
Why?
The purpose was very clear to me that they were smarter entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs who had already been through exactly what I was hoping to create for own my business.
If they already went through the hardships to figure out how to run that specific program? I was on board to learn from their experiences - the good, the bad and the ugly.
These days that information is easy to come by, we have Dr. Google and YouTube. This resource has allowed anyone to get the information instantly...
which is really awesome. It allows the entrepreneur to analyze tons of data, before implementing a service.
But, and I mean this is a big but…
Data is not the same as implementation.
"Marching through the chaos of implementation is the only way to Succeed."-Dr.Steven Peyroux, DC
So here’s a simple formula for all of the entrepreneurs that expect results and a return on their investment in a relatively short timeline.
How to get Results and A Return on your Medical System Investment
- Find your Role Model - Make sure you have the right information about the program you wish to implement. Simply put, look for a group that has an extended track record of doing things right.
- Train, Train and Retrain - Take advantage of a platform that allows you to start educating your staff immediately and consistently. The use of online training videos and online turnkey processes including: marketing, sales, reputable third party vendors for the medical service you wish to implement. This means you do not have to wait for a seminar or a consultation to get the ball rolling. Immediate Implementation.
- Get Coaching - Make sure you work with someone that has already done the program several times. If they haven't been in the arena, they won't know the challenges that come with it. Having someone that has experienced the implementation process first hand can save you months. Remember Time is money 💰💰
- Be Coachable - Stay open minded. This is a common issue that I run into where pride, ego or whatever you call it puts blinders on practitioners. If you are seeking the help of another, be open to new ways of thinking. Tweaks that may be different from your normal day to day may be just the thing to get the sand out of your flywheel.
- Get your Hands Dirty - There is no replacement for Hands-on training. It will separate you from the pack. If you’re going to spend money on a new program for your practice, you need to back that investment by attending any and all trainings offered for that program.
My experience over the past 20 years -
The doctors that show up to the training with their staff, ready to learn and open to new approaches, are the ones that help more patients and out earn their competitors 3-1.
Don’t just make $15,000 per month. Be fully committed-with full intention.
You’ll see that concentrating on one thing will yield a significant difference not only in your take-home income but in the lives of your patients and your team.
